Damaged and/or bare spots in turf shall be immediately <br />repaired at the time of detection. <br />The tree guards shall be maintained in place around the <br />trunk of each canopy tree at all times to eliminate tree <br />damage by string trimmers, mowers, etc. Trees damaged <br />by Contractor shall be immediately replaced at <br />Contractor's expense. <br />5) Dethatching <br />a. Turf areas shall be dethatched once per year between <br />September and October or as directed by the Projects <br />Manager or designee. <br />b. Dethatching shall be accomplished by use of a "vertical <br />type" dethatch machine. <br />c. Contractor shall flag all irrigation sprinklers prior to <br />commencement of work. <br />d. All thatch and debris shall be immediately removed upon <br />completion at Contractor's expense. <br />6) Overseeding <br />Each year, all turf areas shall be overseeded with Eagle Blend or <br />equivalent perennial rye grass at the minimum rate of seven (7) <br />pounds per 1,000 square feet. Seed shall be uniformly broadcast, <br />with care taken to not broadcast in non-turf area. Dethatching <br />and/or deep scalping of the turf may be required as directed by <br />the Projects Manager or designee. Seeds shall be guaranteed <br />free of disease, pests, or other foreign grasses or weeds. <br />7) Pre-Emergent <br />a. The Contractor shall apply an approved pre-emergent <br />herbicide to all turf areas a minimum of one (1) time per <br />year and/or as directed by the Projects Manager or <br />designee for control of all types of weeds. At no time shall <br />weeds be allowed to remain in turf areas. <br />b. Contractor shall flag all irrigation sprinklers prior to <br />commencement of work complete. <br />C. Damage because of rodent activity shall be repaired at <br />Contractor's expense. <br />8) Weed Control of Paved/Hard Surfaces <br />25E-27
