Contractor shall control all weeds growing in cracks, expansion <br />joints and other hard surfaces adjacent to the landscape area <br />by the use of chemical weed control to include long narrow <br />median noses, cracks in sidewalks/curbs/gutters, etc. <br />Contractor shall develop and maintain a broadleaf weed control <br />program that will ensure that all turf is maintained in a weed-free <br />condition at all times. <br />9) Litter pickup/hardscape cleaning <br />a. Contractor shall provide litter pickup to all landscaped areas <br />weekly. <br />b. The hardscape areas adjacent to the landscape, i.e. sidewalks <br />and concrete in the medians, shall be cleaned of leaves, <br />paper, dirt, animal feces, and other debris in conjunction with <br />litter pickup. <br />c. At no time will this debris be blown into the street, storm <br />drains, and/or onto private property. <br />d. All litter shall be removed from the turf prior to each mowing. <br />10) Replanting <br />a. The Contractor shall re-sod all turf lost due to normal <br />attrition or due to Contractor's faulty maintenance or <br />negligence, as determined by the Projects Manager or <br />designee, at no additional cost to the City. <br />b. At no time shall ridges or depressions caused from <br />contractor equipment on over watered and/or saturated <br />ground, as determined by the Projects Manager or <br />designee, be permitted in the median or turf areas. This <br />shall be deemed Contractor negligence. Contractor shall <br />remove and replace with new turf at no additional cost to <br />the City. <br />B. GROUND COVER CARE <br />1) Edging and Detailing <br />a. Ground cover beds shall be maintained within their <br />intended bounds, edged and/or detailed every week. <br />Maintain a 12" clearance between different plant material. <br />b. Ground covers shall not be permitted to encroach into <br />lawns, shrubs, adjacent desirable bare areas, wall fixtures, <br />furniture, other ground cover areas, etc. All sites shall be <br />25E-28
