Workforce Training and development. The WORK Center collaborates with local K -12 <br />and community college programs to promote both vocational and pre - vocational <br />training for adults and youth. It works with: <br />K -12 educators to promote STEM and STEAM education in all its schools as a <br />precursor to training that maximized not just vocational skills, but career paths; <br />Both K -12 and post - secondary resources to keep youth in school and to promote <br />special programs for them; <br />Employment Training Panel (ETP) and other state, federal and other funded <br />programs that offer specialized training to front line workers in order to retain and <br />grow local industries; <br />The Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board will integrate its local business involvement <br />with workforce initiatives by: <br />• Develop outreach plan to business with the identified priority regional sectors by <br />9/30/2013. Begin implementation of outreach plan by 12/31/2013. <br />• Convene Private Sector members of Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board and <br />other business service agencies such as local Chambers of Commerce and <br />members of the business services team to develop business success metrics that <br />respond to identified priority regional sectors by 9/30/2013. <br />Develop talent pipelines via job clubs and merge them to identified priority <br />regional sectors by 9/30/2013. <br />Rapid Response and lay -off aversion. The WORK Center will partners with priority <br />industry sector employers and educators in developing and operating regional <br />workforce and economic development networks as a primary strategy by: <br />• Form the Greater Santa Ana Regional Economic Development Resources <br />Network by 12/31/2013. The network will include business representatives from <br />the local WIBs, local education partners, workforce developers and other <br />business servicing agencies. <br />Develop Strategic Plan and metrics by 6/30/2014. Strategic plan will include <br />identifying and meeting the skill needs of the priority industry sectors. Strategic <br />plan will include the following: <br />- Develop systems that provide an "early warning" to identify "at- risk" businesses <br />and coordinate economic development, workforce and business assistance <br />resources to provide Rapid Response business assistance that may potentially <br />31 <br />19F -37 <br />
