3. Adopt a resolution approving Variance No. 2013-09 (b) as conditioned to exceed <br />the allowable building height. <br />Principal Planner Vince Fregoso presented the staff report and recommendation. <br />Commission discussed the use of school district property for additional parking and <br />the presence of neighborhood permit parking with PWA Civil Engineer Kekula <br />identifying available sites. Staff indicated that Bat Nha would be required to develop <br />a parking/circulation impacts detailing operations during special events. <br />The public hearing was opened <br />Public speakers: <br />Resident Martha Gonzalez, 630 Bamdel, called to support the project but voiced <br />concerns with the overflow parking during special events. <br />Leon W. Clark, New Spirit Baptist Church pastor, expressed concerns over traffic <br />and parking operations. <br />Resident Barbara Lamere voiced concerns with parking impacts. <br />Resident Beatrice Calderon voiced concerns with parking impacts and the need for <br />cooperation from the neighborhood to improve residential area. <br />Michael Barnett, stated that additional parking on the school lot should address <br />concerns. <br />' Miss Grant commented on culture backgrounds in the area. <br />Applicant representative, Andy Quach, stated that the project will provide an <br />additional 75 on-site parking spaces from what exist today. Applicant is working with <br />the City and SAPD to mitigate the traffic impacts. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />MOTION <br />1. Adopt a resolution approving Conditional Use Permit No. 2013-26 as <br />conditioned. <br />2. Adopt a resolution approving Variance No. 2013-09 (a) as conditioned to <br />allow a reduction in parking. <br />3.
