11 <br />VOCATIONAL SKILLS {Writing, Listening, Teamwork, Professional Appearance, <br />Technology) <br />Vocational skills are integrated into the program course work over the length of the <br />program. We cover each of these skills, Office Equipment, Message & Note Taking, Written <br />Communication, Office Management, Office Etiquette, Project Management, Customer Service <br />and Conflict Resolution. We weave these lessons into our technical curriculum. An example <br />includes our Power Point classes where students practice written and spoken communication, <br />project management and the use of office equipment as they prepare for and present their <br />Power Point presentations to the class multiple times over the month long module. <br />LIFE SKILLS (Discipline, Interpersonal, Attitude) <br />Life skills are taught through trainings by experts in their field and include the following <br />topics: <br />Public Speaking <br />Networking <br />Future Planning <br />Conflict Resolution <br />Financial Management+ Budgeting <br />Power of A Positive Attitude <br />Conflict Resolution <br />Hove to be an Effective Team Member <br />Time Management <br />Communication + Listening Skills <br />Building Your Self -Esteem <br />FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS (Reading, Writing, Math, Spelling) <br />We know that our students cannot succeed unless their foundational skills are strong. <br />To that end, we pre and post-test our students to be sure they have sufficient basic <br />skills. In order to provide them with the support to improve these skills we offer <br />tutoring daily. <br />WRAP AROUND STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES (To address barriers) <br />Our Student Services Staff is available to work with students on any non -school issues <br />that may be preventing a student from thriving. These issues may include (but are not <br />limited to) food and housing, childcare, transportation, professional attire, medical care <br />and therapeutic services. We understand that our students are whole individuals and <br />that all areas of their lives must be addressed in order for them to succeed in their <br />education and career. Although we may not be able to directly address some of these <br />areas, we work with local service providers and make referrals as needed to support our <br />student's success and health. <br />POST -ASSESSMENT (GAIN Test) <br />Students who score at or slightly above our minimum requirements for admissions are <br />able to begin their career training but are required to attend tutoring in order to <br />EXHIBIT A <br />
