MA. <br />o Reinstate the student if he/she is found innocent or there is no conclusive evidence <br />• Sanctioned students may appeal the School Director's decision by following the procedure described <br />in 8.6 Student Complaints and Grievances, inasmuch as it may apply. <br />• All students involved in infractions to the code of conduct will be required to have no less than two <br />advising meetings with the Director of Education, or designee, during the first week of reinstatement to <br />ensure that he/she is in psychological condition to continue benefiting from his/her program of <br />study. Notes on these meetings are also entered in the student's electronic file in Edline. <br />• Students with pending disciplinary processes shall not be allowed to graduate or participate in <br />graduation ceremonies. Additionally, if a student withdraws from school at any point during the disciplinary <br />process, the student is not eligible for readmission prior to resolving the outstanding disciplinary issue. <br />1.1.8 Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention <br />Policy: CCC is committed to promoting an educational environment free from the abuse of alcohol and other <br />drugs. The administration and staff recognize that the abuse of alcohol and other drugs interferes with a <br />person's ability to learn and retain new information and increases the risk of accidents and serious health <br />problems. All drugs chemically influence a person's motor skills, body function and brain processes, interfering <br />with judgment, perception, reaction time, and other skills necessary to produce a safe and effective learning <br />environment. <br />Procedure: <br />• Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the college campus. <br />• The use, possession, manufacture, sale or delivery of illegal drugs is prohibited on the college campus <br />and at college activities and will be reported to the local law enforcement agency. <br />• Staff or students found in violation of the policy shall, in addition to any penalties imposed by the civil <br />authorities, be subject to disciplinary action. <br />• Violation of this policy may result in dismissal from the college. <br />• Staff or students who demonstrate abuse of alcohol and/or other drugs while on campus will be dismissed <br />for the day. <br />• An alcohol or drug abuser is defined by CCC as an individual whose use of such substances for non- <br />medical reasons adversely affects satisfactory performance or interferes with normal social adjustment at <br />college. <br />• If the safety of the person dictates, a taxi or an ambulance may be called by college personnel at a cost to <br />the person. <br />In the case of serious behavior problems, law enforcement personnel will be called- <br />• Any student or employee who has demonstrated abuse of alcohol and/or drugs while on campus must <br />meet with the School Committee composed of the School Director, the Director of Education, and an Executive <br />Director prior to returning to campus. <br />The School Committee will offer a referral to an appropriate community agency. <br />EXHIBIT A <br />
