9" SIDE LETTER AMENDMENT <br />TO THE <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />BETWEEN <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AND <br />THE SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION LOCAL 721 <br />FOR FISCAL YEARS 2010 - 2013 <br />Effective the signing of this Side Letter the City of Santa Ana (City) and the Service <br />Employees International Union (SEIU) agree that they have met and conferred, and <br />agreed to amend Article XI of the Memorandum of Understanding between the City and <br />the SEIU. The language herein below applies only to Article XI Section 11.1 Paragraph C <br />C. Effective April 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012 the City shall contribute towards <br />medical premiums an amount consistent with the rates in effect for the CaIPERS Kaiser <br />HMO blended Southern California plan. Effective January 1, 2013 the City shall <br />contribute toward medical premiums an amount consistent with the rates then in effect <br />for each tier of the lowest priced available CaIPERS approved HMO medical plan for the <br />Other Southern California Region plan. Additionally, employees hired after January 1, <br />2012 shall also reimburse the City for the purchase of medical insurance through the <br />City through a payroll deduction in an amount equal to the lesser of ten percent (10%) <br />of the value of the rates then in effect for each tier of the lowest priced available <br />CalPERS approved HMO medical plan for the other Southern California Region plan, or <br />$50 per month. n <br />Edward S.
