Award a contract to Apple, Inc. for the purchase of personal computers, laptops and video <br />editing software in an amount not to exceed $110,300; and increase the aggregate limit <br />for miscellaneous purchases in an amount not to exceed $25,000 annually. <br />2. Award a contract to Siemens Industry, Inc. for the purchase of a video surveillance system <br />in an amount not to exceed $69,000. <br />3. Award a contract to Digital Networks Group, Inc. for the purchase audio/video equipment <br />in an amount not to exceed $58,000. <br />4. Award a contract to CDS Office Products for classroom furniture in an amount not to <br />exceed $43,700. <br />The above contracts are subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and <br />City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />As part of the City's community outreach efforts to enhance the Lacy Neighborhood, the City <br />entered into a joint use agreement with the Santa Ana Unified School District for the construction <br />and use of a community center on Garfield Elementary School grounds. The Garfield Community <br />Center, a 10,000 square foot two story facility is scheduled to complete construction in October <br />2013. Fully-equipped, the center will provide services to students and residents with access to <br />professionally equipped computer labs where patrons will learn about video production, editing, <br />22K-1
