Gayle McLean, retired nurse at Santa Ana Unified School District; supports <br />businesses along Bristol Street; opined that loss of businesses may affect services <br />provided to low income and disabled members of our community. <br />18. Steve McGuigan, invited all to attend the Boo at the Zoo event and elected officials <br />to tour the Zoo. <br />19. Matthew Southgate, member of United Artists of Santa Ana, spoke of various arts <br />advocacy groups in the community. <br />20. Rosie Rios, urged City Council to establish services and programs to homeless <br />who do not to qualify for existing programs. <br />21. Carolyn Torres, spoke in opposition to civil gang injunction in Townsend <br />neighborhood and proposed social programs. <br />22. Alicia Rojas, welcomed new City Manager; expressed support of mural at Santa <br />Ana Plaza, Santa Ana Business Council and SACReD's efforts; spoke on recent <br />cancellation of contract for mural at Santa Ana Plaza; proposed Ad Hoc Committee <br />consider matter. <br />23. Elizabeth Cardenas, spoke in support of arts; suggested art committee to discuss <br />mural at Santa Ana Plaza. <br />24. Adriana Alexander, indicated that workshop for arts community held on mural at <br />Santa Ana Plaza; proposed Ad Hoc committee consider art project - important to <br />engage community in process. <br />25. Moises Camacho, opined that Santa Ana is center of arts movement; inquired as <br />to reason City cancelled contract for mural; City to reconsider contract to move <br />project forward. <br />26. Kimberly Duran, spoke on mural at Santa Ana Plaza; also opined that Ad Hoc <br />committee consider contract. <br />27. Isidro Perez, spoke on cancellation of contract to produce mural at Santa Ana <br />Plaza, unfair decision. <br />• Mayor Pro Tern Tinajero indicated that Parks, Recreation, Education and Youth <br />Council Committee would agendize matter at upcoming meeting. <br />28. Laura Montagne, Executive Director of The GRAIN Project, commented on <br />sustainability and community engagement important in the City - follow the <br />Phoenix Plan; foster collaboration; also requested assistance in reestablishing the <br />Santa Ana farmers market. <br />29. James Stewart, spoke on Agenda Item 31 C - Variance on Parking on Bristol <br />30. Tish Leon, concerned with pedestrian safety — requested educational programs for <br />drivers and pedestrians; spoke on computer labs outreach efforts on the strategic <br />plan, proposed computers made available to the community at all times; thanked <br />City employees for fitness equipment at senior center. <br />31. Ellen Diamond, board member of The GRAIN Project; spoke in support of art on <br />utility boxes; suggested that committee communicate with businesses and project <br />proponents. <br />32. Victor Payan, commented on success of OC Film Fiestas thanked sponsors and <br />talent available in the City. <br />33. Pocha Pena, member of United Artist of Santa Ana, requested infrastructure to <br />support artist, establish fair and transparent process; advocated for more live work <br />housing; commended PREY committee for considering art programs. <br />34.
