Agreement with Siemens for Video Monitoring Center <br />January 21, 2014 <br />Page 2 <br />The Police Department is proposing to enhance the existing system by adding a video <br />surveillance center or "video wall ", which will provide users with greater scalability and the ability <br />to monitor many more video feeds of various sources. The video monitoring center will include <br />nine 55" high definition screens that will allow staff to select and customize the feeds based on <br />priority /emergency needs. The addition of the video monitoring center will establish the Police <br />Department's video surveillance system as one of the premier video surveillance systems in the <br />state. The base agreement is for $197,546 and a $19,754 (10 %) contingency has been added for <br />unanticipated improvements, for a total not to exceed amount of $217,300. The base agreement <br />includes all monitors, Dell workstations, Hiperwall software, and licensing needed to operate the <br />system. <br />Santa Ana City Municipal Code Section 2 -807 (d) authorizes the City to purchase from vendors <br />who have been awarded the same type of purchase contract from any public agency utilizing a <br />competitive bid process. The equipment, software and services associated with this project will <br />be acquired through Siemens (original vendor /architect/builder of the system) using the National <br />Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are available in the FY 2011 UASI Grant fund (no. 12514407 - 66400 - 12429101182 - 3498). <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br />Carlos Rojas Francisco Gutierrez <br />Acting Chief of Police Executive Director <br />Police Department Finance & Mgmt.
