Iss1 /10/14 <br />RESOLUTION NO.2014 -003 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR <br />GRANT FUNDS THROUGH THE BUREAU OF <br />RECLAMATION WATERSMART WATER AND ENERGY <br />EFFICIENCY GRANT PROGRAM UNDER THE UNITED <br />STATES DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR AND THE SECURE <br />WATER ACT OF 2011 <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and <br />declares as follows: <br />A. The Bureau of Reclamation has been delegated responsibility by the <br />United States Department of the Interior for the administration of the <br />WaterSMART Water and Energy Efficiency Grant Program, setting <br />up necessary procedures governing the Application; and <br />B. Said procedures established by the Bureau of Reclamation require <br />the applicant to certify by resolution its approval of application(s) <br />prior to submission of said application(s) to the Bureau of <br />Reclamation; and <br />C. If selected, the City will enter into a contract with the Bureau of <br />Reclamation to complete the grant scope project. <br />Section 2. The City Council approves the filing of an application for $300,000 in federal <br />funds from the United States Department of the Interior's WaterSMART Program under the <br />SECURE Water Act as established in 2011 for the purchase of water leak detection <br />equipment. <br />Section 3, The City Council certifies that the City has or will have available, prior to <br />commencement of any work on the project included in this application, sufficient funds to <br />complete the project. <br />Section 4. The City Council certifies that the City has or will have sufficient funds to <br />operate and maintain the project. <br />Resolution No. 2014 -003 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
