WHY ARE WE HERE? <br />Part A - Discuss the EIR Addendum <br />• Necessary to fund wall <br />• Limited to wall & right turn pocket (e/b 17th to s/b Bristol) <br />Part B - Review Essential information related to Bristol Business Coalition <br />PROJECT OVERVIEW <br />Widen Bristol - Warner Ave to Memory Ln (3.9 miles) <br />Project Goals: <br />• Widen from 4 to 6 lanes <br />• Reduce Traffic Congestion <br />• Landscape median & parkways <br />• Accommodate all users (Pedestrians, Bikes, Autos, Buses) <br />• Consistency with Bristol Specific Plan + City General Plan <br />• Implement Complete Streets Act & Pedestrian Safety <br />PART A - ENVIRONMENTAL ADDENDUM <br />Addendum may be considered when there is a minor adjustment to the existing <br />environmental document <br />• Establishes need for wall to mitigate visual impacts, thereby making funding <br />available to construct it <br />• Clarifies there is no need for right turn pocket — e/b 17th to s/b Bristol <br />• This Addendum is not related to the Bristol Business Coalition concerns <br />ADDENDUM CONCLUSION <br />Staff recommends Addendum approved (at the next City Council meeting) <br />• Project may proceed as planned <br />• Visibility wall can be paid for using the project grant funds <br />• If Addendum is not approved, project may still proceed, but the wall will not <br />be funded <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 14 JANUARY 7, 2014 <br />
