• Objective 2: Create new opportunities for business /job growth and encourage private development through new General Plan and Zoning Ordinance policies 4 For Strategy 1f, WCSC would like to support the "Santa Ana buy local" plan • Objective 4: Continue to pursue objectives that shape downtown Santa Ana into a thriving, culturally diverse, shopping, dining, and entertainment destination --> WCSC would like to participate in developing these objectives to shape downtown into a destination that offers healthy options for Santa Ana residents and families. 4 For Strategy 4a: WCSC has developed a list of recommended amenities along the corridor (and awaiting a meeting with City manager to discuss), and LHA has received a grant from UCLA to purchase a few amenities to install. 4 For Strategy 4b: WCSC would like to recommend that the wording "bicycle parking' be included as an "innovative strategy to provide parking" Community Health, Livability, Engagement & Sustainability Goal: • All objectives, but particularly 4, 5 & 6: o Objective 4: Support neighborhood vitality and livability 4 WCSC would like to support strategies 4b -4d for neighborhoods in WC • Objective 5: Promote a strong arts and culture infrastructure 4WCSC would like to support art and culture plan for downtown, including family- oriented activities, public art on walls, trash cans, utility boxes • Objective 6: Focus projects and programs on improving the health and wellness of all residents 4WCSC is doing significant work related to this objective, so this is a priority objective for WCSC with interest in supporting implementation of each strategy. 4 For strategy 6a, we would like web resource to include maps, routes, parks, and community centers, including fitness routes identified by WCSC 4 For strategy 6b, we would like central Santa Ana commuter routes and destinations to be prioritized including schools and community centers. -i For strategy 6f, we can provide technical support in integrating health and wellness in all policies, as well as the adoption of a separate health and wellness element in the update of the General Plan. Community Facilities & Infrastructure Goal: • Objective 1: Establish and maintain a Community Investment Plan for all City assets 4WCSC has done work related to strategies 1a, 1b including a report to City PW Dept on streets /sidewalks needing repair in downtown.
