• Objective 2: Create new opportunities for business /job growth and encourage <br />private development through new General Plan and Zoning Ordinance policies <br />4 For Strategy 1f, WCSC would like to support the "Santa Ana buy local" plan <br />• Objective 4: Continue to pursue objectives that shape downtown Santa Ana into <br />a thriving, culturally diverse, shopping, dining, and entertainment destination <br />--> WCSC would like to participate in developing these objectives to shape <br />downtown into a destination that offers healthy options for Santa Ana residents <br />and families. <br />4 For Strategy 4a: WCSC has developed a list of recommended amenities along <br />the corridor (and awaiting a meeting with City manager to discuss), and LHA has <br />received a grant from UCLA to purchase a few amenities to install. <br />4 For Strategy 4b: WCSC would like to recommend that the wording "bicycle <br />parking' be included as an "innovative strategy to provide parking" <br />Community Health, Livability, Engagement & Sustainability Goal: <br />• All objectives, but particularly 4, 5 & 6: <br />o Objective 4: Support neighborhood vitality and livability <br />4 WCSC would like to support strategies 4b -4d for neighborhoods in WC <br />• Objective 5: Promote a strong arts and culture infrastructure <br />4WCSC would like to support art and culture plan for downtown, including <br />family- oriented activities, public art on walls, trash cans, utility boxes <br />• Objective 6: Focus projects and programs on improving the health and wellness <br />of all residents <br />4WCSC is doing significant work related to this objective, so this is a priority <br />objective for WCSC with interest in supporting implementation of each strategy. <br />4 For strategy 6a, we would like web resource to include maps, routes, parks, <br />and community centers, including fitness routes identified by WCSC <br />4 For strategy 6b, we would like central Santa Ana commuter routes and <br />destinations to be prioritized including schools and community centers. <br />-i For strategy 6f, we can provide technical support in integrating health and <br />wellness in all policies, as well as the adoption of a separate health and wellness <br />element in the update of the General Plan. <br />Community Facilities & Infrastructure Goal: <br />• Objective 1: Establish and maintain a Community Investment Plan for all City assets <br />4WCSC has done work related to strategies 1a, 1b including a report to City PW Dept <br />on streets /sidewalks needing repair in downtown. <br />
