<br />interest in a residence at the commencement of homeownership assistance for the purchase of <br />any home. <br /> <br />Except for cooperative members who have acquired cooperative membership shares prior to <br />the commencement of homeownership assistance, the family has entered a contract of sale in <br />accordance with 24 CFR 982.631(c). <br />SAHA Policy <br />SAHA has established additional eligibility requirements which are the following: <br />The family must have no family-caused violations of Housing Quality Standards within <br />the last three years. <br />The family is not within the initial 12-month period of a HAP contract. <br />The family does not owe monies to SAHA. <br />The family has not committed any serious or repeated lease violations within the last <br />three years. <br />The family must complete classes pertaining to money management and homeownership. <br />SAHA may also require additional training or classes that will assist the family in <br />successful homeownership. <br /> <br />15-VII.C. SELECTION OF FAMILIES \[24 CFR 982.626\] <br />Unless otherwise provided (under the homeownership option), the PHA may limit the <br />homeownership assistance to families or purposes defined by the PHA, and may prescribe <br />additional requirements for commencement of homeownership assistance for a family. Any such <br /> <br />limits or additional requirements must be described in the PHA administrativeplan. <br />If the PHA limits the number of families that may participate in the homeownership option, the <br />PHA must establish a system by which to select families to participate. <br />SAHA Policy <br /> <br />SAHA limits the number of families that may participate in the homeownership option to <br />10 per year. If more than 10 families are determined eligible, a wait list will be <br />established. <br />15-VII.D. ELIGIBLE UNITS \[24 CFR 982.628\] <br />In order for a unit to be eligible, the PHA must determine that the unit satisfies all of the <br />following requirements: <br /> <br />The unit must <br />following: <br />- <br />A public housing or Indian housing unit; <br />- <br />A unit receiving Section 8 project-based assistance; <br />- <br />A nursing home, board and care home, or facility providing continual psychiatric, <br />medical or nursing services; <br />Page 15-11 <br />04/01/14 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
