Quarterly Report for HCV <br />March 4, 2014 <br />Page 2 <br />Chart 2 illustrates the number of applicants by <br />total household size. The majority of families 500 <br />on the waiting list consist of only one or two <br />members. 400 <br />300 <br />Nearly half of all applicants (851 of 1,808, or 200 <br />47 %) have one or two member households <br />and would qualify for a one bedroom voucher. 100 <br />The Santa Ana Housing Authority's occupancy 0 <br />policy is one bedroom for every two family <br />members. <br />Participants <br />At the end of the reporting period, there were <br />2,594 households receiving rental assistance <br />from the Housing Authority. <br />Chart 3 illustrates participating families, sorted <br />by number of family members. Three - fourths <br />(77 %) of families receiving assistance have <br />three or fewer members. <br />The family type of program participants is <br />illustrated in Chart 4. <br />"Other" consists of households that are non - <br />elderly, non - disabled, with no minor children. <br />Over half (64 %) of participating households <br />have elderly and /or disabled members. <br />2.
