e) All parks with flagpoles shall have an American flag displayed at all times. The Contractor shall visually inspect <br />the flag every day to assure it is in goad condition. Should, in the opinion of the Director, the flag not be in good <br />condition (faded, discolored, tom and /or having holes) Contractor shall immediately request from the Director a <br />new flag. Contractor shall raise the now flag immediately upon receipt from the Director. <br />f) Drinking fountains shall be cleaned, sanitized and unplugged on a continuous basis. The Contractor shall use <br />approved germicidal cleaner and products to assure that drinking fountains are clean and polished, The <br />Contractor shall remove all mineral build up, algae, stains, etr,. The Contractor shall achieve this level of quality <br />using a combination of cleansers, metal polish product, hand and/or power tools. Should the drinking fountain <br />be so plugged that dismantling the fountain is required the Contractor shall notify the Director immediately so <br />City staff can make the repair, <br />9. Pla round /Tot -Lot Areas <br />a) The Contractor shall provide maintenance of all playgroimd/tot -lot sand and rubberized areas once a week. <br />Maintenance shall include, but not limited to, loosening of compacted areas, re- grading sand/wood chips areas <br />to level condition (eliminating ruts, depressions, build tip areas, etc.), sifting ofsand/wood chips to assure that <br />debris and any other foreign objects are removed, removal of weeds, removing sand/wood chips on sidewalks <br />surrounding the playground/tot -lot, eliminating berms (including pre - existing) in the turf surrounding the <br />playgroundrtot -lots (high pressure water blasting or sod cutting, leveling and re- sodding are approved <br />methods), and trash and other undesirable material. Rubberized fall areas shall be cleaned of sand/wood chips <br />and debris daily. Any sand /wood chips that accumulate on the rubberized surface shall be reused. Sand /woad <br />chips and debris on the playground equipment shall be removed. <br />b) The City shall be responsible for all playground equipment and tot -lot area safety inspections. <br />10. Ball Diamond Maintenance <br />The Contractor shall retain a sub - contractor to provide ball diamond infield maintenance as set forth in <br />Attachment 1. <br />a) Baseball Perimeter Maintenance <br />Hall diamond perimeter malutenanco shall be performed daily. Ball diamond perimeter maintenance shall be <br />defined as all areas outside the field of play and sideline /dugout areas where coaches, players and others <br />associated with the game gather. Ball diamond perimeter maintenance areas shall include but is not limited to <br />grandstands, areas around concession stands, fence lines, warm -up areas, etc. The work that shall be <br />performed on a daily basis shall include picking up trash and debris, blowing off areas /hosing down areas <br />using a high pressure nozzle to remove brick dust, stains and/or all other foreign material, such as sunflower <br />seeds or peanut shells, so that all areas, including pavement and landscape areas, arc 100% free and clean. <br />b) DaiI.y Quffleld, Maintenance <br />(1) Irrigation checks and repairs to assure that irrigation heads are at the proper grade to avoid injury to <br />players who may fall on them and that no "slippery" areas exist. <br />(2) Fill in of divots and depressions and all uneven areas with 920 whitc silica sand, organic compost mixed <br />with Stovers Bermuda Dunes grass seed during the spring/summcr and Stover Grand Slam perennial rye <br />grass seed during the fall winter to re- establish the areas. <br />(3) level fonca line areas using a rook or leveling rake. <br />
