following Council approval of this Agreement, an incumbent in one of the classes <br />designated as "non- sworn" covered by this Agreement shall earn an additional amount as <br />follows: <br />A. Upon attainment of an Associate in Arts Degree and five (5) years' experience <br />with the City of Santa Ana, said employee will be paid at a rate set five (5) salary <br />rate ranges (approximately 2.5 %) above his or her then current base monthly <br />salary step. <br />B. Upon attainment of a Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree and with five (5) years' <br />experience with the City of Santa Ana, said employee will be paid at a rate set an <br />additional (5) salary rate ranges (approximately 2.5 %) for a total of 10 salary rate <br />ranges (approximately 5 %) above his or her then current base monthly salary step. <br />If said employee obtains a Bachelor's Degree without attaining an Associate in <br />Arts Degree, he or she will be paid at a rate set ten (10) salary rate ranges <br />(approximately 5 %) above his or her then current base monthly salary step. <br />6.10 Career Development Pay. <br />Employees hired on or after January 1, 2014 shall be eligible to receive Career <br />Development Pay as follows: <br />A. Associate of Arts Degree. Upon attainment of an Associate in Arts Degree and <br />five (5) years of municipal police experience in the Police Officer or Police <br />Sergeant classification, of which thirty (30) months must be with the City of <br />Santa Ana Police Department, and attainment of "E" step, said employee will be <br />paid at a rate set ten (10) salary rate ranges (approximately 5 %) above his or <br />her then current base monthly salary step. <br />B. Bachelor's Degree. Upon attainment of a Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree <br />and seven (7) years of municipal police experience in the Police Officer or <br />Police Sergeant classification, of which thirty (30) months must be with the <br />City of Santa Ana Police Department, and attainment of `E" step, said employee <br />will be paid at a rate set an additional (10) salary rate ranges (approximately <br />5 %) for a total of 20 salary rate ranges (approximately 10 %) above his or her <br />then current base monthly salary step. If said employee obtains a Bachelor's <br />Degree without attaining an Associate in Arts Degree, he or she will be paid at a <br />rate set twenty (20) salary rate ranges (approximately 10 %) above his or her then <br />current base monthly salary step. <br />C. Master's Degree. Upon attainment of a Masters of Arts or Science Degree and <br />ten (10) year of municipal police experience in the Police Officer or Police <br />Sergeant classification, of which thirty (30) months must be with the City of <br />Santa Ana Police Department and attainment of "E" step, said employee will be <br />paid at a rate set an additional (10) salary rate ranges (approximately 5 %) for a <br />total of 3 0 salary rate ranges (approximately 15 %) above his or her then current <br />base monthly salary step. <br />24 <br />
