MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING <br />,% OF THE CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE ON <br />PARKS, RECREATION, EDUCATION AND YOUTH <br />January 27, 2014 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The regular meeting convened at 5:30 p.m. at Centennial Park Reservations <br />Administration Meeting Room; 3006 Centennial Road, Santa Ana, California 92704. <br />ATTENDANCE <br />Council members Present Mayor Pro Tem, Sal Tinajero (Chair) <br />Angelica Amezcua <br />Roman Reyna <br />Staff Present: David Cavazos, City Manager, <br />Gerardo Mouet, PRCSA Executive Director <br />Ron Ono, Administrative Services Manager <br />Jeannie Jurado, Community Services Manager <br />Enrique Marban, Community Services Supervisor <br />Hiram Uribe, Graphic Designer <br />Public Speakers Peter A. Katz, SA resident <br />Steve McGuigan, FOSAZ and Riverview West <br />Barbara Lamere, Windsor Village <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS: <br />• Peter Katz raised concerns of the insensible beating at the SA nightclub. We <br />need to educate owners of dance clubs to provide security around their <br />establishment. <br />• Steve McGuigan raised concern on the SA College lease extension <br />scheduled for the next city council agenda. He expressed the need for park <br />space. The college needs to find property next to the freeway. There is <br />insufficient parking at their current location and they need to provide the best <br />service to the community. They had 35 years to find a location. This location <br />was only meant to be temporary. The college needs to make a decision for <br />the long term, not the short term. <br />• Barbara Lamere indicated that people needs to provide input into the decision <br />making process.
