• George Estrada, spoke on Agenda Item 6513, concerned with proposal to increase <br />council compensation and eliminate $1,000 restriction on campaign contributions. <br />• Skeith Devine, does not support any budget cuts as it related to art programs; propose <br />affordable housing for the artist. <br />• Dylan Thomson, spoke on behalf of the OC May Day Coalition, thanked Councilmember <br />Martinez and City Manager for meeting with Coalition; request profitability report on the <br />jail and supports cancellation of contract with ICE; supports increased compensation for <br />City Council members. <br />• Claudia Ramirez, representative of OC May Day Coalition, concerned with City's <br />contract with ICE and request accurate information as it related to the contract. <br />• Scott Sink, request Jail profitability report and meeting with City Manager to discuss jail <br />options. <br />• Octavio Pina, Vice President of the South Main Street Merchants Association, thanked <br />the City Council for including funding in 5-year Strategic Plan and request support for <br />sustainable projects. <br />• Thomas Gordon, spoke in opposition to proposed City Council compensation increase. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR ITEMS <br />MOTION: Approve Consent Calendar Items 10A through 31A as recommended <br />by staff with the following modifications: <br />• Councilmember Martinez pulled Agenda Items 20A and 25G for separate <br />discussion. <br />MOTION: Tinajero SECOND: Amezcua <br />VOTE: AYES: Amezcua, Benavides, Martinez, Pulido, Reyna, <br />Sarmiento, Tinajero (7) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSTAIN: None (0) <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br />ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS <br />MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 6 MAY 20, 2014 <br />
