City of Santa Ana -Park View at Town and Country Manor <br />Draft EIR <br />Climate <br />a) Bins for resident recyclables shall be located in an easily accessible location <br />and information regarding recycling practices shall be distributed to the <br />residents on a bi- annual basis; <br />b) Storage for recyclables shall be included in the site plans; <br />c) Onsite composting, if implemented, shall be conducted properly with an <br />appropriate composting unit and appropriate maintenance to reduce potential <br />odors; <br />d) During construction, the project shall reduce and/or salvage at least 50% of <br />non - hazardous construction debris; and <br />e) During construction, recycled building materials and/or rapidly renewable <br />materials shall be used where feasible. <br />CC -5 To reduce water, the project shall do the following to the satisfaction of the City of <br />Santa Ana: <br />a) Install interior water saving features and appliances; <br />b) Utilize drought tolerant native plants, shrubs, and trees; and <br />c) Install water - efficient irrigation systems and devices, such as soil moisture- <br />based irrigation controls. <br />CC -6 Signs shall be posted at loading and unloading areas to indicate that idling is <br />prohibited. <br />CC -7 To reduce vehicle miles traveled, the project shall strive to incorporate all or some of <br />the following items: <br />a) Create a car - sharing program with fuel efficient cars (greater than 40 miles <br />per gallon) and/or provide a minimum of one Zipcar, a rental car for group <br />use (or equivalent) in the parking garage (www.zipcar.com); <br />b) Provide information to the residents on how to use the transit system, <br />including details on where the bus stops are located, route information, how <br />to plan a bus trip, and potential destinations; <br />c) Provide a locked shed in the parking garage available to residents for long- <br />term storage of bicycles; and <br />d) Install short-term bicycle parking within 100 feet of the main entrance of the <br />building. <br />CC -8 The project shall maintain the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units at least <br />once per year to ensure minimal refrigerant leakage.
