Identification of a Locally Preferred Alternative for the <br />Santa Ana - Garden Grove Fixed Guideway Project <br />August 5, 2014 <br />Page 2 <br />• 3,796 postcards were prepared and sent to all properties within 500 feet of the area of <br />potential effect (multi - residential and single -unit properties, including the owner and tenant <br />of each property), as well as to key stakeholders who had previously participated in the <br />environmental process. The postcards provided details of the three scheduled meetings in <br />English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. <br />• A press release was sent out via Nixle and an announcement was made by the City <br />Manager at a publicly televised City Council meeting at the start of the 45 -day review period. <br />• Seven news outlets, including the OC Reporter and the Orange County Register, provided <br />print and web coverage on the Santa Ana - Garden Grove Fixed Guideway Project and the <br />scheduled public meetings. <br />• Information was placed prominently on the homepage of the City's website, eliciting 100,000 <br />views in the first 30 days of the 45 -day review period. <br />• To encourage attendance, staff contacted key stakeholders, groups, and neighborhood <br />leaders (including those outside of the 500 -foot envelope, such as the Logan and French <br />Park neighborhoods), and sent out an a -news release to over 2,000 neighborhood leaders <br />in advance of the meetings. <br />• A copy of the Santa Ana - Garden Grove Fixed Guideway Project AA /DEIR was placed at <br />seven locations, including five in Santa Ana, one in the OCTA office in Orange, one location <br />in Garden Grove, and a digital copy online, for public review. <br />• Three public meetings were held along the potential Santa Ana - Garden Grove Fixed <br />Guideway Project route at various times to accommodate as many people as possible. <br />Information, interpretation and translation services were provided in English, Spanish, and <br />Vietnamese. <br />• Flyers in all three languages were placed at every community and senior center in the city, <br />providing information on where to find the AA /DEIR, the website address, the 45 -day review <br />period, and how to submit comments. <br />• Notice of the public meetings and calls for public comment were also promoted on the City's <br />social media channels several times throughout the 45 -day review period. <br />• To encourage input, flyers on the 45 -day review period and calls for comments were also <br />distributed as handouts at neighborhood meetings throughout the 45 -day review period. <br />• Information was provided to the Santa Ana Unified School District ( SAUSD) Public <br />Information Office and various SAUSD staff, to extend notification to those interested. <br />55C -2 <br />
