As of the close of public review, comments <br />were received from the following agencies: <br />• Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society (letter and e-mail) - support for Streetcar <br />Alternative 1. <br />• US General Services Agency (GSA) (e -mail) - support for Streetcar Alternative 1; <br />opposition to Streetcar Alternative 2. <br />• California Native American Heritage Commission (letter) - reiterating measures needed to <br />protect sensitive archaeological resources. <br />• Caltrans (letter) - no comment; will continue to follow project. <br />Public comments were also received from the following groups /residents: <br />• Downtown, Inc. (e -mail) - support for Streetcar Alternative 1 <br />• Santa Ana Community & Business Alliance (letter): <br />- Opposition to the "Preferred Option" signed by 85 residents and businesses <br />- Opposition to the 'Preferred Option" and request for equity analysis signed by 98 <br />residents <br />• Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce (e -mail) support for Santa Ana - Garden Grove Fixed <br />Guideway Project <br />• Santa Ana Restaurant Association (e -mail) support for Santa Ana - Garden Grove Fixed <br />Guideway Project <br />• Santiago Lofts resident (e -mail) support for Santa Ana - Garden Grove Fixed Guideway <br />Project <br />Public comment totals from the public meetings are as follows: <br />• 4 postcards from residents <br />• Public Meeting #1: Verbal comments from 6 individuals <br />Public Meeting #2: Verbal comments from 4 individuals <br />• Public Meeting #3: Verbal comments from 24 individuals <br />Comments generally fell into the following categories: <br />• General community support for a streetcar system <br />• Concern about the duration and potential impacts of construction on Downtown businesses <br />• Concern about loss of on- street parking <br />• Opportunities to stimulate economic development along Fifth Street <br />55C -3 <br />
