Certified Irrigation Technician <br />a. Fullerton College Associate in Science Ornamental Horticulture or Landscape <br />Management. Or Certificate of Proficiency in Landscape Irrigation Program <br />totaling over 30 units <br />b. Mt. San Antonio College Associate of Science in Ornamental Horticulture or <br />Park and Sports Turf Management. Or two skilled Certificates in landscape <br />and park management totaling over 30 units. <br />c. UC Riverside Certificate in Landscape Irrigation Certificate Program <br />d. Irrigator Tech Certificate Program (must possess all of the following): <br />i. Certified Irrigation Repair Technician (GIRT) <br />ii. Certified Irrigation Auditor (CIA) <br />iii. Smart Water Certified (SWC) <br />iv. Certified Irrigation Installer (CII) <br />Certified Irrigation Technician Assistant <br />a. 50% completion of Fullerton College Certificate of Proficiency in Landscape <br />Irrigation Program <br />b. 50% completion of UC Riverside Certificate in Landscape Irrigation Certificate <br />Program <br />c. Irrigator Tech Certificate Program (must possess all of the following): <br />i. Certified Irrigation Repair Technician (CIRT) <br />fl. Certified Irrigation Installer(Cil) <br />(8) From time to time City staff will advise contractor of special events occurring <br />in contract areas and contractor will be required to adjust irrigation scheduling to <br />avoid negatively Impacting the event. Should the contractor fail to properly adjust <br />irrigation or otherwise prepare the area for the special event, a failure to perform <br />in the amount of $916 will be assessed for liquidated damages. <br />f) Weed Control -All Turf <br />(1) The Contractor shall keep all turf, casual and sport/priority turf, free of all turf <br />type weeds, especially Dallis Grass, Goose Grass, Smut Grass, Poe Annua, Nut <br />Sedge, Nedd[e Grass and broadleaf weeds at all times. The Contractor shall, <br />along with the monthly Pesticide Use report, submit a written schedule for weed <br />abatement in turf specifying the method, day and location where weed <br />abatement will be performed. The Director's Representative will review and <br />approve written schedule taking into consideration the park's use. Should the <br />Contractor fail to control weeds In turf to the satisfaction of the Director's <br />Representative he/she may hire an agricultural pesticide operator to perform the <br />work and subtract the cost for this work from the Contractor's monthly invoice. <br />(2) Contractor shall apply Dimension pre - emergent herbicide to all turf areas per <br />the Pre - Emergent and Post - Emergent Agronomic Plan In order to control the <br />germination and growth of all weeds in all turf year around. i.e. Dallis Grass, <br />Goose Grass, Crab Grass, Nutsedge, Plantain, Oxalis, etc. <br />(3) Should turf type or broadleaf type weeds germinate, the Contractor shall <br />control the weeds immediately upon recognition by way of selective and /or <br />broad - spectrum post emergent herbicides and methods approved by the <br />Director. <br />Districts 1, A and 5 Park Landscape RFP <br />1��29 <br />
