FATIMIA LOZANO <br />2.00 CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS <br />All contractors are required to have a valid appropriate state contractor's Iicense, current City of Santa <br />Ana business license, City Attorney approved certificate of insurance and be knowledgeable in tree <br />pruning and tree care prior to the commencement of any and all work. <br />2.01 STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION <br />The current edition of the "Green Book ", Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction and it's <br />updates, supplements and local addendums, shall be included as part of these specifications, unless <br />otherwise directed in these specifications. <br />2.02 SPECIFICATIONS INTERPRETATION <br />The intent of these specifications is known by the City of Santa Ana and SAPRF. Any questions <br />relating to the interpretation of these specifications must be addressed, in writing, prior to the start of <br />work. The Contractor agrees that interpretations of this contract after the start of work arc at the SAPR.F <br />sole discretion, and the Contractor shall abide by all such interpretations. <br />2.03 EXTRA WORK <br />In the event the Contractor is required by the City to perform extra work, the following procedure shall <br />govern such work: <br />a. When rcquircd, by the SAPRF representative, an itemized estimate of cost will be submitted for <br />approval prior to work being performed. The Contractor shall maintain records sufficient to <br />distinguish the difference betwccn direct cost and extra work. He shall famish reports of extra work <br />on forms, agreed upon and approved by the SAPRF representative, itemizing all costs for labor, <br />materials and equipment rental. The report shall include hours worked and be in accordance with <br />the following conditions: <br />1. Work will be executed wider the direction of the SAPRF on a time and material basis or an <br />agreed lump sum price depending on the nature of the work. <br />2. The SAPRF representative will issue a work request for such extra work to be performed. <br />3. Extra work will not be initiated without written authorization, except in emergency call -out <br />situations. The SAPRF representative wilt solely define specific emergency situations. <br />4. Extra work may include, but is not limited to, the following: <br />a). Repairs to landscaping, sprinkler systems, and /or facilities, unless damaged by <br />Contractor. <br />2.04 PROTECTION OF EXISTING FACILITIES AND STRUCTURES <br />The Contractor shall exercise due care in protecting from damage all existing facilities, structures, and <br />utilities; both above surface and underground on the City's property, Any damage to City, SAPRF, or <br />private property caused by the Contractor's neglect shall be corrected and paid for by the Contractor at <br />no cost to the City of Santa Ana or SAPRF. The City of Santa Ana and/or SAPRF shall make the <br />determination of fault. The SAPRF representative reserves the right to issue a Stop Work Notice if the <br />Contractor does not promptly repair any damage, within twenty -four (24) hours of the damage incurred. <br />[Districts 1, 4 and 5 Park Landscape RFP <br />P 19� =64 <br />
