2.10 SPECIFICATIONS AND PLANS <br />The work perfonnQd shall be done in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Public Works <br />Construction, latest edition, hereinafter referred to as Standard Specifications, In case of conflict <br />between the Standard Specifications arid this Specification, this Specification shall take precedence over <br />and be used in lieu of such conflicting portions. <br />Where the plans or specifications describe portions of work in general terms, but not complete detail, it <br />is understood that workmanship of the finest quality is to be used. Unless otherwise specified, the <br />Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment and incidentals and do all the work <br />involved in executing the contract. <br />2.11 CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT <br />The Contractor shall take all necessary precautions for safe operation of his equipment and the <br />protection of the public from injury and damage from such equipment. <br />2.12 SOUND CONTROL REQUIREMENTS <br />The Contractor shall comply with all local sound control and noise level rules, regulations and <br />ordinances that apply to any work performed pursuant to the Contract. Each internal combustion engine <br />used for any purpose on the job or related to the job shall be equipped with a muffler of a type <br />recommended by the manufacturer of such equipment. No internal combustion engine shall be operated <br />on the project without said muffler. Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of this <br />section shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract items of work involved <br />and no additional compensation will be allowed therefore. Sounds, such as loud music, that are not <br />related to the project, shall be kept at levels so as to not disturb the general public. <br />2.13 TRAFFIC CONTROL_ <br />The Contractor shall acquire a City permit for all street closures. The Contractor shall abide by the <br />Manual on ITnifonn Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) approved by the Federal Highway <br />Administrator as the National Standard in accordance with Title 23 U.S. Code, Sections 109(d), I t4(a), <br />217, 315, and 402(x), 23 CFR 655, and 49 CFR 1,48(b)(8), 1.49(b)(33), and 1.48(e)(2). The California <br />Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (California MUTCD) is published by the State of <br />California, Department of Transportation and is issued to adopt uniform standards and specifications for <br />all official traffic control devices, in accordance with Section 21400 of the California Vehicle Code. <br />This manual is current as of the date of publication on the footer page. However, it may be necessary <br />from time to time to modify, change or adopt new standards and specifications for traffic control devices <br />and /or issue errata or editorial changes to the manual.
