CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO. 11 -6416 <br />SEVENTEENTH STREET WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS <br />For spans greater than four (4') feet, a structural design for the recessed steel plate bridging <br />shall be prepared by a California registered civil engineer and approved by the Engineer. Steel <br />plate bridging shall be designed for HS20 -44 truck loading per Caltrans Bridge Design <br />Specifications Manual. The Contractor shall maintain steel plates with a non -skid surface <br />having a minimum coefficient of friction equivalent to 0.35 as determined by California Test <br />Method 342. The contractor may use standard steel plate with known coefficient of friction <br />equal or exceeding 0.35. <br />A Rough Road sign (W8 -8) with black lettering on an orange background shall be used in <br />advanced of steel plate bridging. This is to be used along with any other required construction <br />signing. <br />Payment for recessed steel plate bridging shall be included in the other items of work involved <br />and no additional payment will be allowed therefore. <br />1.16 AS -BUILT DRAWINGS <br />The Contractor shall maintain and update the as -built drawings throughout the <br />construction period. The "As- Built" drawings shall be submitted to the Inspector before <br />completion of the project. Final payment will not be made until As -Built plan is received <br />by the City. <br />T -1h <br />23A -87 <br />
