7. Stationary equipment will be placed such that emitted noise is directed <br />away from sensitive noise receivers such as residential areas. <br />8. Stockpiling and vehicle staging areas will be located as far as practical <br />from occupied dwellings. <br />9. Construction will be staged so that only limited segments of the <br />roadway are affected at any one time. <br />10. Traffic control plans will be prepared prior to each phase of <br />construction. All traffic warning and control devices should comply to <br />the provisions of the State of California Manual of Traffic Controls. <br />11. The Orange County Transportation District will be notified prior to the <br />initiation of project construction so that arrangements can be made for <br />alternative bus routes and interim bus stop locations, if necessary. <br />11 The police and fire departments will be notified of construction at least <br />one (1) month in advance, as to the particulars of the project (i.e., <br />project time schedule, and areas to be disrupted, etc.). This action <br />would give the police and fire departments sufficient time to notify its <br />personnel of any significant impediments to traffic. <br />• <br />13. The City will notify the police department at least 48 hours in advance <br />of any turning changes. A minimum of three (3) signs are required for <br />each indicated change and /or prevention of movement. <br />14. Project plans and construction activities will be closely coordinated with <br />local utility purveyors in order to make the necessary arrangements for <br />the relocation of facilities and avoid or minimize any disruption to - <br />service. It is also recommended that the utilities provide adequate <br />notice to its customers of any service disruptions. <br />15. Consideration will be given to the undergrounding of overhead <br />electrical and telephone lines as part of the project. <br />16. If feasible, construction activities and lane closures will occur primarily <br />during non -peak driving periods. <br />17. The City of Santa Ana's Public Works Director will coordinate closely <br />with all agencies and companies which maintain underground or at- <br />grade utility or energy facilities within the areas to be disturbed by <br />project construction activities. Preliminary and final design plans will <br />be made available to such agencies for review and comment.
