In an effort to enhance the City's current economic <br />development efforts and provide guidance on the new <br />Economic Development Strategic Plan (EDSP), the City formed <br />an Economic Development Taskforce comprised of key <br />stakeholders throughout the City. <br />61 Page <br />The Taskforce will assess Santa Ana's competitive advantages <br />and develop a set of recommendations for the City Manager <br />to review as various policies are brought to the City Council <br />for consideration. <br />The Committee will also be asked to evaluate and provide <br />guidance on issues such as: <br />• Current City fee structure (business license and <br />permitting costs) <br />• Targeted business attraction and retention strategies <br />• Regulatory policies affecting business and industries <br />in the City <br />• Streamlining business processes <br />• Small business advocacy <br />• Maintaining a "Business Friendly" approach and <br />standard <br />The City Manager received direction from the FEDT Council <br />Committee to provide a list of recommended stakeholders for <br />each Councilmember to select taskforce members.
