ATTACHMENT <br />7)Page <br />WS -A -75 <br />City Manager will request Raul Yanez, President of the Santa <br />Ana Business Council be added to replace the former <br />President on the ED Taskforce. <br />17. <br />Revisit economic development recommendations <br />Recommendations made by this or any other committee, <br />or decisions done prior to additional appointments <br />advisory group, etc., are simply recommendations that are <br />of the Economic Development Task Force. <br />ultimately at the discretion of the City Council. <br />The Task Force has made three recommendations to date: <br />1. Develop an Economic Development Strategic Plan <br />and hire a consultant via competitive process to <br />draft the Plan <br />2. Hire three (3) additional Senior Plan- Checker <br />Engineers and one (1) Senior Plumbing Systems <br />Specialist to reduce planning and building lead times <br />from 63 days (current) to 15 days (best practice), <br />and make the City of Santa Ana more business <br />friendly (approved by City Council November 18, <br />2014) <br />3. Hire new building inspectors (1 senior combo <br />building inspector, 3 combo building inspectors, 1 <br />permit processor) to ensure next day inspection. <br />Next day is best practice; City currently takes at least <br />3 days. Approved by City Council on Sept 16, 2014. <br />18. <br />Work with SABHC, SACRed and Wellness Corridor <br />The City currently operates under various planning and <br />SC to establish a Health and Wellness Committee as <br />advisory committee%ommissions. Members are selected <br />advisory to the City to oversee planning, <br />and appointed by the City Council. Functions described are <br />implementation, and evaluation.
