ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORTADDENDUM <br />Bristol Street Widening Project Warner Ave to Saint Andrew Place (Phase IV) <br />As shown in Chapter VI, Resources Element, of the County of Orange General Plan, the project site is not <br />located in an area of paleontological sensitivity. Also, the proposed project would involve only shallow <br />excavation. Furthermore, since the project area is already developed, the potential for discovering <br />paleontological resources during construction is low. Soils occurring in the project area are mostly Quaternary <br />Alluvium. Typically, these deposits are less than 10,000 years old, and not likely to contain important fossils. <br />No greater impacts to paleontological resources than previously analyzed in the 1990 Final EIS /EIR would <br />result from project implementation. <br />Mitigation Measures <br />No new additional mitigation measures are required. <br />(d) Disturb any human remains, including those interred outside of formal cemeteries? <br />The project site is located within a fully developed urban area of the City. No formal cemeteries are located <br />within the project area or vicinity. However, in the event that human remains are uncovered during grading or <br />excavation, contractors are required to comply with the procedures and requirements set forth in the California <br />Health and Safety Code Section 7050.5 and Public Resources Code Section <br />2098.98. The County Coroner and, in the event that the remains are Native American, the Native American <br />Heritage Commission would be notified and, in turn, would notify those persons believed to be most likely <br />descended from the deceased for appropriate disposition of the remains. The proposed project would not result <br />in human remains impact greater than previously analyzed in the 1990 Final EIS /EIR. <br />Mitigation Measures <br />No new additional mitigation measures are required. <br />3.6 Geology and Soils <br />This section corresponds with Section IV, Environmental Consequences and Mitigation Measures, subsections <br />A, Landform Modification, B. Seismic Hazards, C. Erosion Impacts, and F. The project site is <br />not underlain by an active fault and the closest fault, the Newport- Inglewood Fault, is approximately eight <br />miles to the west. The proposed widening would not result in greater impacts than previously analyzed in the <br />1990 Final EIS /EIR. <br />Mitigation Measures <br />No new additional mitigation measures are required. <br />(a) ii Strong seismic ground shaking? <br />The Newport - Inglewood Fault is the closest fault to the project site and is the most likely source of ground <br />shaking impacts. The proposed project is an intersection widening project and would not expose people or <br />structures to adverse ground shaking impact.
