Request for Qualifications for Housing Financial
Analytical End A vk oury Service
ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND
KMA is a full service real estate, financial and economic consulting firm that has a
specialization in affordable housing services. A privately held California corporation,
KMA was incorporated in 1973, and now has one of the largest real estate and
redevelopment advisory practices on the West Coast. The majority of KMA
assignments involve long-standing client relationships with city and county
governments, including clients throughout the Orange County.
KMA presently has 23 professional staff persons in three offices located in Los
Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego. The downtown Los Angeles office, which
would provide services to the City, includes seven professional staff members and
provides consulting services to a wide range of government agencies and a limited
number of private sector clients in Southern California.
KMA's unique strength is the depth, continuity and availability of our principals who
average more than 20 years of practical experience working with our public and
institutional clients. All work assignments are directly supervised by a principal and
it is the personal involvement of our principals that contribute to the firm's ongoing
success.
KMA's principals are frequent speakers to industry groups including the California
League of Cities, the American Planning Association, NAHRO, the Urban Land
Institute, and other similar organizations. KMA's principals served as special
advisors to the California Redevelopment Association (CRA) Board of Directors and
its Affordable Housing Committee.
KMA's principals have acted as instructors at the following CPA Institute courses;
Beginning and Advanced Affordable Housing; Affordable Home Ownership; Pro
Forma Analysis; Components of the DDA; Developer Selection; and Redevelopment
Finance. KMA principals have also lectured at the UCLA Anderson School of
Business, the UCLA Graduate School of Urban Planning, the USC Graduate School of
Urban Planning; and the California State University at Long Beach Graduate School
of Public Administration.
The increased complexities of real estate transactions demand a strong technical
understanding of real estate market opportunities and constraints. KMA has the
ability to provide services to the City that are based on a fundamental
understanding of the real estate market, affordable housing programs and funding
sources, valuations and investment financing.
Keyser Marston Associates, Inc.
