PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />• George Garcia, concerned that US President reduced funding for police <br />department's military gear. <br />• Michael Klubnikin, stated that Orange County has illegal and corrupt activities. <br />• Linda Lou Kestin, troubled that Salvation Army proposes to have temporary <br />rehabilitation facility off of Edinger. <br />• Ivan Enriquez, Youth Commission Chairperson, thanked the City Council for support <br />of Commission and reported on meetings held. <br />• Laura Morfin, Santiago Springs Homeowners Association, concerned with Salvation <br />Army's proposed temporary site to provide shelter for 50 adult men that are <br />homeless and on probation or with mental health issues; disappointed with short <br />notice given to area residents and proximity to schools; City needs to be <br />inclusionary; does not support Salvation Army planning permanent site next to <br />temporary site. <br />• Peter A. Katz, thanked Councilmember Martinez and Metropolitan Water District for <br />water tour; thanked Mayor Pulido for Streetcar Project, the City Manager for <br />balanced budget being proposed and commented on low high school graduation <br />rates and need for recreational program to reduce crime. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />MOTION: Approve staff recommendations on the following Consent <br />Calendar items 10A through 31A, with the following modifications: <br />• Mayor Pro Tern Sarmiento pulled Agenda Item 19E for separate discussion; <br />and <br />• Councilmember Martinez pulled Agenda Items 19F, 2513, and 25E for <br />separate discussion. <br />MOTION: Benavides <br />VOTE: AYES <br />SECOND: Sarmiento <br />Amezcua, Benavides, Martinez, Pulido, Reyna, <br />Sarmiento, Tinajero (7) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSTAIN: None (0) <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 7 MAY 19, 2015 <br />1 0A -7 <br />
