Councilmember Benavides, concerned that re- pavement would not allow <br />rain water to percolate back into the aquifer; long term benefit needs to be <br />considered. <br />Rancho Community College Board Trustee Claudia Alvarez, opined that <br />matter is a safety concern; Public Safety Committee of the Board has <br />discussed matter; lighting concerns too, but not included in proposal; <br />requested support as proposed by the District. <br />Councilmember Tinajero, stresses importance of due diligence. <br />City Attorney Carvalho, read provisions of the proposed contract with <br />concerns. <br />District Attorney Hardwood, noted that indemnification provision will be <br />included that will hold City harmless. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Sarmiento, proposed motion to allow the City Attorney to <br />review bid package and allow City and College District to work together on <br />repair of Centennial Park parking lot; good faith effort to work out details. <br />City Manager Cavazos, indicated that matter would be brought back to <br />City Council with project details. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Sarmiento, noted that Special Meeting to approve contract <br />may be warranted. <br />MOTION: Direct City Attorney to review the bids by Rancho <br />Community College District and work together with District staff to <br />enter into an agreement to repair and repave the parking lot at <br />Centennial Education Center. <br />MOTION: Sarmiento SECOND: Martinez <br />VOTE: AYES: Amezcua, Benavides, Martinez, Pulido, <br />Reyna, Sarmiento, Tinajero (7) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSTAIN: None (0) <br />ABSENT: None(0) <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 6 MAY 19, 2015 <br />1 0A -6 <br />
