1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />16.2.5 Senior Accounting Assistant <br />Duties: <br />16.2.5.1 Prepares and maintains financial and accounting <br />records by gathering, assembling, tabulating, comparing, verifying, and <br />posting financial and statistical data. <br />16.2.5.2 Prepares or verifies and processes bills, <br />invoices, and similar documents. <br />16.2.5.3 Posts and balances cash books, ledgers, <br />subsidiary journals, and other financial and accounting records. <br />16.2.5.4 Reconciles accounts to general ledgers and <br />prepares routing reports and statements. <br />16.2.5.5 Analyzes and prepares reports of encumbrances <br />and expenditures for department programs. <br />16.2.5.6 Performs cost research and cost recovery <br />analysis. <br />16.2.5.7 Receives money and maintains records of <br />receipts, files of invoices and other financial transaction documents. <br />Qualifications: <br />16.2.5.8 A minimum of two (2) years of experience <br />performing responsible accounting, financial, statistical or other specialized <br />office clerical work supplemented by courses in accounting, finance, business, <br />office practices, or related coursework; or a combination of two (2) years of <br />training and experience, or courses in accounting, finance, business and <br />office practices which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities in <br />accounting methods and government budgeting. <br />16.2.5.9 Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and <br />practices, fund accounting and governmental accounting methods. <br />16.2.5.10 Ability to keep bookkeeping accounts and prepare <br />(MR0415) <br />Page 23 of 25 <br />(April 7, 2015) <br />
