2015 Orange County Children's Therapeutic Arts Center <br />Youth Employment Program - WIOA Proposal <br />completing all necessary financial Aid or dream act applications, such as scholarships to <br />minimize any stress and anxiety on financial burdens. <br />E. How will your organization expose youth to the various post -secondary educational <br />institutions (colleges, universities, vocational training schools, apprenticeships, etc.). All year <br />round the WIOA youth attend field trips to the various colleges and universities so they can get <br />motivated and encouraged to enroll in any of these institutions with the help of the case <br />manager and the career/educational counselor at OCCTAC. All certificate programs are taught <br />at our facility. Currently we offer WIOA participants 2 of 3 state certificate programs at our <br />agency: Child Care Worker Certificate and the Office Clerk/Executive Administrative Certificate <br />Programs. The mental health certificate program is being restructured, and SAC will hire new <br />faculty to teach this program. Please see below (Table 8) for a brief description of these <br />certificate programs in partnership with the Santa Ana College. Furthermore, we are in the <br />process of incorporating a new Health Certificate program at OCCTAC, in partnership with the <br />California School of Health Sciences, an Institute owned by one of our new Board of Directors. <br />More to come soon! Furthermore, OCCTAC is a new enrollment agency for Covered California, <br />and our youth can become certified agents! This is a new training opportunity for our WIOA <br />youth. The program develops skills in research, report and <br />correspondence preparation, advanced computer <br />software applications, database management, interactive <br />presentations, customer service and telephone <br />techniques, and other advanced office procedures. <br />Child Care Worker Certificate <br />Students learn about health information required for <br />M, W, F <br />Program <br />licensing and skills necessary for successful operation of a <br />childcare business. Also, students learn soft skills for <br />8:00 am —12:00 <br />those who would prefer to be employed by a childcare <br />pm <br />business. <br />Mental Health <br />Students learn basic skills for employment as a <br />In progress <br />Paraprofessional <br />Paraprofessional mental health worker. They acquire <br />Certificate Program <br />knowledge about the treatment of psychological and <br />behavioral health disorders and the philosophy of <br />delivery of mental health services to improve entry into <br />this field. This certificate program develops competency <br />for vocational success that allows students to attain skill <br />development in basic delivery of services, documentation <br />and reporting, introduction to human development, <br />principals of case management, working with families <br />and employability. <br />EXHIBIT A <br />
