City Response to SABHC Funding Proposal <br />65A -18 <br />The Santa Ana Police Department Is currently an active <br />partner with the Orange County Re -Entry Partnership.' <br />This existing rehabllltatlon program is headed by the <br />Funding for a Community Intervention Worker <br />Orange County Sheriff's and Probation Department, These <br />Community- Based Violence Intervention and Re -entry <br />efforts are geared to reducing the overall 3 year recidivism <br />Service to provide crisis intervention, re -entry services, <br />rate from 75% down to 25% for those that remain <br />trauma care, family support, and long term case <br />enrolled In the projects support services. There are <br />managed services to youth and families affected by SAPID in collaboration with <br />currently 56 local partner organizations involved In these <br />violence, gangs, and Incarceration. Community Orgs $ <br />100,000.00 efforts. <br />_ <br />The City currently utilizes $708,255 In CDBG funding for <br />after school youth programs. New Investments In joint use <br />facilities with SAUSD Including the $5 million Roosevelt - <br />SAPD In collaboration with <br />Walker facility is set to open during the 2015 -2016 school <br />Diversion program for ellglble youth Project kinship $ <br />100,000.00 year. _ _ _ <br />_ _ _ <br />In accordance with the Sunshine Ordinance, the City has <br />Increased the requirements for community outreach for <br />new developments, during changes to key City planning <br />documents, and continued to support community <br />SAPD In collaboration with <br />involvement through Neighborhood Association <br />Community Conferencing Community Orgs $ <br />100,000.00 gatherings, <br />The Public Works Agency was recently awarded $11 <br />million worth of bike Improvement projects by the State <br />of California. These programs will provide protected bike <br />lanes along Santa Ana Blvd, 5th Street, and Edinger <br />Bike infrastructure Improvements and extension of the <br />Avenue. A Civic Center Bike Blvd. will also be added to <br />Maple bike trail, including improved signage, lighting, <br />help provide Safe Routes to School for the residents of <br />etc. Public Works or Parks $ <br />500,000.00 Santa Ana. <br />City staff has met with community representatives to find <br />publicly available land meeting the required zoning, size, <br />and availability requirements set out by the Wellness <br />Strategy Resolution adopted by the city council on 6 -2 -15. <br />An area meeting these requirements has not been <br />Cmty Development in <br />currently Identified by interested parties. City staff will <br />Funding to cover costs for leasing public land for a collaboration with <br />continue to work on developing City -wide guidelines on <br />pilot community -run micro -farm Community Orgs $ <br />750,000.00 the leasing of public property to private entitles. <br />, _. <br />The 3 homes on 6th and Lacy are already pending <br />conversion to open space perthe terms of the Station <br />District Settlement Agreement. An additional block of <br />open land at Lacy and Vance has also been identified by <br />Council and City staff as a location forfuture open space <br />near the Lacy neighborhood. Staff remains open to <br />Funding to purchase boarded up houses & convert to an <br />Identlfying potential locations across the City for <br />open space In the Lacy neighborhoods, Parks and Recreation $ <br />50.0,000.00 additional open space. _ <br />The Carfield Community Center currently operates the <br />center for 87.5 hours per week at an annual cost of <br />Expand Lacy Community Center hours and clays for <br />$215,000 Any additional hours has a cost of $2,457 /hour <br />community use. .._ Parks and Recreation $ <br />200,000.00 to operate on an annual basis. <br />65A -18 <br />
