employee is unable to take his or her meal period, or is interrupted <br />during his or her meal period, he or she shall not receive further <br />compensation. <br />b. 207(k) 7/12.5 Work Schedule - Detention. Employees shall work <br />three (3) 12 hour and 30 minute workdays in one (1) seven day <br />period and four (4) 12 hour and 30 minute workdays in the next <br />seven (7) day period, or alternatively, four (4) 12 hour and 30 <br />minute workdays in the first seven (7) day period and three (3) 12 <br />hour and 30 minute workdays in the following seven (7) day <br />period. This cycle shall be repeated twice each 28 day FLSA <br />Work Period. Each workday shall consist of 11 hours and 30 <br />minutes of work and a one (1) hour meal period, 30 minutes of <br />which shall be paid and 30 minutes of which shall be unpaid, for a <br />total of 12 hours and 30 minutes. During each 28 day FLSA Work <br />Period, employees assigned to the 207(k) 7/12.5 Work Schedule <br />shall earn one (1) hour of vacation time if they do not take leave <br />without pay during that Work Period. Correctional Officers will <br />be compensated at the time and a half overtime rate for all time <br />worked in excess of their regular work shift of 12.5 hours per <br />workday. The overtime compensation will apply only to actual <br />time worked beyond the regular shift and calculated in increments <br />of six (6) minutes. <br />Effective January 10, 2016 or as soon as practicable, fourteen (14) <br />Correctional Officers previously assigned to night shift will be <br />assigned to work a swing shift from 1400 -0230 hours. Their days <br />off, annual vacation requests and their assigned supervisor will <br />coincide with the shift having the same workdays. The schedules <br />for day shift and night shift will remain unchanged. <br />c. 2071(_c) 4/10.5 Work Schedule- Detention Administration. <br />Employees shall work seven (7) ten hour and 30 minute workdays <br />and one (1) ten hour workday during each two (2) week period. <br />This pattern will recur twice during the 28 day FLSA Work Period. <br />Each 10 hour and 30 minute workday shall consist of 10 hours and <br />30 minutes of work and either a 30 minute or one (1) hour unpaid <br />meal period. The 10 hour workday shall consist of 10 hours of <br />work and either a 30 minute or one (1) hour unpaid meal period. <br />The determination as to a thirty (30) minute or one (1) hour unpaid <br />meal period shall be made by the Police Chief or his designee. <br />d. 207(k) 4/10 Work Schedule.
