Chairperson Michele Martinez would like the following items to recur on <br />committee agenda for timeline and updates: <br />• Downtown Wayfinding <br />• Economic Development Strategic Plan <br />• Audit / Audit Plan <br />(Items taken out of order.) <br />7. CDBG Funding and Timeline (Strategic Plan No. 4,3e) — (CDA) <br />Sylvia Vasquez, Community Development Analyst, provided presentation on <br />Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Public Service Funding, for Community Development <br />Block Grant (CDBG). Presentation outlined program and purpose; estimated <br />allocation for fiscal year 2016-2017; and three funding ideas for FY 2016-17: <br />1) Award FY 2015-16 CDBG funded nonprofits for a second year; 2)Conduct <br />a new application process; 3)Participatory Budgeting. Next Steps would be <br />City Council Work-study Session this fall. <br />Committee Chair Michele Martinez would like a list of nonprofits identified for <br />funding. Guidelines needed to evaluate process; if it's working, what's been <br />done, is community engaged, and how many commissioners needed. <br />Committee Vice -Chair Vince Sarmiento agrees and likes having options to <br />review. Engage community so all included, not just special interest groups. <br />Possible review at council retreat scheduled for August 18t" <br />4. Update on potential Transportation or Infrastructure Bond Measure(s) <br />(Strategic Plan No. 4) <br />Committee Chair Michele Martinez would like to review options put together <br />by Sonia Carvalho, City Attorney, on bond measure that included list of <br />different options of tax measure and bond measure to prepare for upcoming <br />election. Is this something we want to do? Need good public transportation <br />to succeed in economic development. Finance could connect with Sonia, to <br />provide different options to committee's next meeting to help make decision <br />to fund a comprehensive bond measure. <br />10. RFP Process for Housing Funds (Strategic Plan No. 5, 3) — (CDA) <br />Kelly Reenders, Executive Director of Community Development Agency, <br />provided update of RFP released June 16t with an August 21St deadline. <br />CDA has received interest from several nonprofits agency developers. <br />Funding consists of 24 project based vouchers, $500,000 CDBG funds, <br />July 22, 2015 (Special) I Finance, Economic Development, & Technology Minutes <br />
