Santa Ana Climate Action Plan
Solid Waste, Water and Wastewater Measures
Food waste can be broken down in an anaerobic digester to
produce renewable energy. The state mandate under AB 341
requires an increase in the rate of recovery of commercial
waste for recycling, and some of this increased recovery will
likely be food waste. Initially, this waste may be composted,
but through this measure the City will arrange for it to be sent
to a digestion facility to allow energy recovery.
Type of Measure
Voluntary
. ...........
