DISCUSSION The City and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) recently completed contract negotiations, resulting in a new Memorandum of Understanding for the Part Time Non Civil Service Unit. The provisions of this agreement include: 1) Term: A two -year term, from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2017. 2) Salary: A 2.5% increase on both July 1, 2015 and July 1, 2016. 3) Paid Sick Leave /Personal Necessity: 24 to 52 hours of paid time provided to employees based on years of service. 4) Increase in Allowable Work Hours: Employees enrolled in the CalPERS retirement system may work up to 1040 hours per year (20 hours per week). 5) Holiday Overtime: Employees may receive overtime for work on July 4t" (actual holiday) instead of July 3rd (observed holiday) when the holiday falls on a Saturday. 6) Employee Terminations: An employee being terminated from employment may receive a review from the department head and City Manager or designee. 25C -1
