Resolution Amending Classification & Compensation Plan and Fiscal Year 2015 -16 Budget <br />March 1, 2016 <br />Page 3 <br />General Plan, and will manage and coordinate all of the Agency's responsibilities in the areas of <br />personnel, finance and computer services. Funding for this position has been identified and will <br />be allocated upon City Council approval, after which selection interviews will be conducted and <br />this position will be filled using a candidate eligible list recently established. The Administrative <br />Services Manager (MM) position, as well as a Management Aide position to be requested in the <br />upcoming annual budget, will further the Executive Director's reorganization of administrative <br />functions for his agency. <br />Public Works Agency <br />The Executive Director of Public Works is requesting two job classification title changes in order <br />to more clearly and accurately describe the job responsibilities. Maintenance Enterprise <br />Administrator (AM) will be changed to Assistant Public Works Maintenance Manager (AM) and <br />Safety Coordinator will be changed to Public Works Safety Coordinator. In addition, it is <br />recommended that the compensation level assigned to both of these new and vacant <br />classifications be reduced: Assistant Public Works Maintenance Manager (AM) will be reduced <br />by 5% and Public Works Safety Coordinator will be reduced by 13.5 %. <br />Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency <br />The Executive Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services is requesting the deletion <br />of the full -time, vacant job classification of Park Maintenance Leader. This classification is not <br />needed or relevant given the current methods of ensuring park maintenance through contracted <br />services. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item allows the City to meet Goal #7 — Team Santa Ana, Objective #6 - (Provide <br />a positive workplace environment that supports the health of its employees and celebrates its <br />success and goals). <br />� R � <br />Two of the above actions will have a fiscal impact. The reallocation of two middle management <br />positions to the new classification of Facilities and Fleet Maintenance Manager (MM) will result in <br />a cost savings of $31,000 for the remainder of the fiscal year. The reduction in salary assigned <br />to the Assistant Public Works Maintenance Manager (AM) job classification will result in a cost <br />savings of $3,000 for the remainder of the fiscal year. <br />55A -3 <br />
