« 4 <br />Matet Dei High School <br />Parking Structure and School Expansion Project <br />Environmental Impact Report <br />The proposed project goals and objectives are as follows: <br />1. Provide an on- campus parking structure to accommodate existing and projected parking <br />demand under the Master Plan for Mater Dei.High School <br />2. Provide a new parking structure and two - story classroom building to accommodate <br />projected growth and increase maximum student enrollment from 2,200 students to 2,500 <br />students. <br />3. Provide improvements that minimize impacts of the proposed project on the surrounding <br />community both on -site (screening walls, landscaping improvements, enhanced architectural <br />treatments), and off -site (transportation improvements). <br />1.3 EFFECTS DETERMINED TO BE LESS THAN SIGNIFICANT IN <br />THE INITIAL STUDY /NOTICE OF PREPARATION <br />The City of Santa Ana prepared an Initial Study /Notice of Preparation for the proposed project to <br />determine potentially significant effects of the proposed project. The Initial Study /Notice of <br />Preparation was circulated for public review from November 13, 2012 through December 17, 2012, <br />In the course of this evaluation, certain impacts of the proposed project were found to be less than <br />significant due to the inability of a project of this scope to create such impacts or the absence of <br />project characteristics producing effects of this type.
