Pre-Occupancy Orientation <br />A pre-occupancy orientation program will be provided for applicants during the interview <br />process. If applicants are accepted, at the time of the execution of the lease and payment <br />of security deposit, Solari and Mercy House shall re-orient the households on the project. <br />The orientation shall include a full and detailed review of the project house rules, and <br />will also include a question and answer period during which the residents can become <br />acquainted with each other as well as Solari and Mercy House. <br /> <br />C. Procedures for Determining Resident Eligibility and for Certifying and Annually Recertifying <br />Household Income and Size <br /> <br />1. Initial Resident Eligibility <br />Steps to determine initial income eligibility are described in Section II above. <br /> <br />2. Annual Resident Recertification <br />Each household will be informed during the interview and orientation process of the <br />requirement to have household income and composition re-certified annually. <br />Annual interviews with each household will be scheduled according to a recertification <br />schedule established by Solari. Every calendar year every household must be re- <br />certified. The re-certification procedure will begin 120 days prior to the required time of <br />completion. The full re-certification process will be almost identical to the initial <br />certification required at move in time. <br /> <br />D. Resident Occupancy Standards <br /> <br />a) Pets: No pets are allowed in Guest House. <br /> <br />b) Permissible Absences: Resident families are required to occupy Guest House as their <br />primary place of residence. Absences beyond 45 days will be permitted for emergency <br />purposes only, as long as rental payments are kept current during the absence. <br />Requests for absences must be submitted to Solari in writing, giving the reasons for the <br />absence, the dates of the expected absence, and any other material circumstances <br />that might affect Solari's decision about the appropriateness of the absence. The resident <br />will be notified in writing of the decision. <br />3-54
