RFP for Salvage and Demolition <br />April 5, 2016 <br />Page 2 <br />prior to demolition of any residential structure. The City will allow for architectural inspection by <br />the Santa Ana Historic Preservation Society to identify salvageable items, which will be followed <br />by salvage of items within a set timeframe. <br />The City will provide the service of the contractor awarded under this RFP to remove all items <br />identified by the process. The contractor awarded under this RFP will also be responsible for the <br />demolition of the three properties, which will be monitored by City staff. <br />The RFP is scheduled for release on April 12, 2016 with proposals due May 12, 2016. A <br />mandatory job walk will be held on April 25, 2016 for all interested bidders. Following review of <br />the proposals received, the recommendations will be submitted for City Council's final approval. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #5 - Community Health, Livability, <br />Engagement and Sustainability, Objective #4 (support neighborhood vitality and livability), <br />Strategy #A (Support the design and construction of parks to provide increased open space and <br />opportunities for recreation throughout the city, construct the Roosevelt Walker Park and <br />Community Center, and develop concepts and proposals for the Library Park in Civic Center and <br />Centennial Santa Ana River Eco- Park). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. <br />Kelly Reenders <br />Executive Director <br />Community Development Agency <br />NV /JB <br />Exhibit: 1.
