<br />Rental Assistance for 90 -day Residential Tenants
<br />Residential tenants who have established their residency within the Project area for a minimum of 90 days
<br />prior to the initiation of negotiations and who choose to re -rent may be eligible to receive Rental Assistance
<br />Payments in addition to a Moving Expense Payments.
<br />Agents use the following to determine the maximum rental benefits for the displacees:
<br />Agent will verify current rent for displacement dwelling. This can be done by getting rent receipts,
<br />copy of lease the agreement or canceled checks,
<br />Determine what utilities the tenant is responsible for. Utility costs usually include electricity, gas
<br />and water,
<br />Agent will also determine what the household income is. They will do this by gathering all the
<br />means of income received as a household for a 12 month period, such as earned wages, salary,
<br />child support, alimony, unemployment benefits, worker's compensation, social security and net
<br />income from business, and
<br />If a household is determine to be low income then their benefits are calculated by using 30% of the
<br />gross monthly income.
