1. <br />2. <br />0 <br />NOES: <br />ABSTAIN: <br />ABSENT: <br />None (0) <br />None (0) <br />Hitterdale (1) <br />STAFF AND COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />STAFF COMMENTS <br />Mr. Klotz announced the next regular meeting scheduled for July 3 will be cancelled <br />with the next meeting to be held on October 2. <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Bustamante: <br />• Commented on his attendance at the Santa Ana Cemetery on Memorial Day noting <br />the valuable resource of the historic cemetery where Civil War and <br />Spanish/American War veterans are buried. <br />Commissioner Schaefer: <br />• Welcomed Commissioner McLoughlin to the Commission. <br />Vice Chair Christy: <br />• Welcomed Commissioner McLoughlin; <br />• Invited all to attend the 125th Birthday Celebration of the Howe -Waffle House and <br />40th Anniversary of the Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society on June 7 from <br />12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. <br />Commissioner Rosas: <br />• Welcomed Commissioner McLoughlin. <br />Commissioner Garcia: <br />• Recently joined the Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society and encouraged <br />Commissioners to become members. <br />Commissioner McLoughlin: <br />• Thanked all for the opportunity to be on and to serve on the Commission; <br />• Inquired on the status of the historic designation fee reduction. Ms. Haluza noted <br />staff will bring a recommendation to the Development and Transportation Council <br />Committee on June 30 to waive the historic listing fee for one year and reduce the <br />Mills Act fee by 50%. Commissioner Schaefer requested that staff provide an <br />update to the Commission on the Committee's action. <br />Chairman Mill: <br />• Welcomed Commissioner McLoughlin noting he will be a valuable resource and is a <br />great addition to the Commission; <br />• Echoed comments on the Santa Ana Cemetery; noted that former Mayor Gordon <br />Bricken wrote a book "Pioneers in Blue and Gray" on the Civil War gravesites and <br />veterans buried at the cemetery. <br />EXCUSE OF ABSENCES <br />Motion by Commissioner Bustamante to excuse the absence of Commissioner <br />Hitterdale. <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION MINUTES 4 JUNE 5, 2014 <br />
