NO. 16 -006) <br />{STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 6, 1C} <br />C/n <br />CITY MANAGE <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1" Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award contracts for swimming pool maintenance and repairs for a two -year period expiring May <br />31, 2018 with provisions for a one -year renewal exercisable by the City Manager, in an annual <br />aggregate amount not to exceed $70,000, subject to non - substantive changes approved by the <br />City Manager and City Attorney, with the following vendors: <br />Vendor Location <br />Waterline Technologies Santa Ana <br />Blueray Management, LLC Newport Beach <br />California Waters Development, Inc. Yorba Linda <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency, General Maintenance Division is <br />responsible for maintaining the City's aquatic centers and water features. Due to heavy use of <br />the aquatic facilities and deferred preventive maintenance over the last several years the facilities <br />are in constant need for equipment repairs and replacement. The City is requesting a contract <br />for on -call services to address routine maintenance and emergency repairs, as well as overdue <br />deferred maintenance projects. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on January 20, 2016 on the City's online bid <br />management and publication system. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as <br />follow: <br />38 Vendors notified <br />14 Vendors downloaded the bid packet <br />5 Bids received <br />2 Bids received from Santa Ana vendors <br />22C -1 <br />
