Walking Path Signage Installation <br />50 <br />$350 <br />$17,500 <br />Base Work <br />Engineering Design <br />60 <br />$200 <br />$12,000 <br />Total Other <br />$138,040 <br />Justification <br />Intersection Enhancements - Roundabouts reduce traffic speeds at key intersections and increase safety <br />for pedestrians and bicyclists. <br />Intersection Enhancements - Median Refuge Islands reduce traffic speeds by breaking up the visual <br />openness of the street and increase safety for pedestrians. ADA compliant ramps will also be installed. <br />Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons highlight crossings and alert motorists of the presence of <br />pedestrians, these will be installed at uncontrolled crossings with crosswalks and yield markings. ADA <br />compliant ramps will also be installed. <br />Like a walking trail but in an urban context, decorative in- ground tile markers will act as" breadcrumbs" <br />and encourage pedestrians to walk along the established Wellness Corridor and will allow them to track <br />their distances traveled along the route. <br />The design engineer will design the specific improvements that are going in the roadway and take into <br />account water flow lines and utility conflicts.
