Contract Award For Construction of <br />Safe Transit Stops <br />June 7, 2016 <br />Page 2 <br />A Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on April 11 and 18, 2016 and bids were opened on April 27, <br />2016. Based on the bids received, staff recommends award of <br />this contract to ND Construction (Exhibit 3). <br />The estimated total delivery cost of this project is $1,439,702 which is based on the base bid, <br />additive alternates 1 and 2, and other costs detailed in the project cost analysis (Exhibit 4). The <br />$687,519 grant will be supplemented with $200,000 of City General Funds and $552,183 of <br />Peebler Capital Projects fund. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #6 Community Facilities & <br />Infrastructure, Objective #1 (establish and maintain a Community Investment Plan for all City <br />assets), Strategy G (develop and implement the City's Capital Improvement Program in <br />coordination with the Community Investment Plan (e.g., neighborhood streets, traffic <br />improvements, etc.). <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, the recommended actions are <br />exempt from further review. Categorical Exemption Environmental Review No. 2016 -55 was filed <br />for this project. <br />23A -2 <br />
