2015 URBAN WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN <br />.3 Water Use by ustomer Type <br />An agency's water consumption can be projected by understanding the type of use and customer type <br />creating the demand. Developing local water use profiles helps to identify quantity of water used as well <br />as when, where, how, and by whom water is used within the agency's service area. A comprehensive <br />profile of the agency's service area enables the impacts of water conservation efforts to be assessed and <br />to project the future benefit of water conservation programs. <br />The following sections of this UWMP provide an overview of the City's water consumption by customer <br />account type as follows: <br />• Single- family Residential <br />• Multi- family Residential <br />• Commercial <br />• Institutional/ Government <br />Other water uses including non- revenue water are also discussed In this section. <br />2.3.1 Overview <br />There are 44,551 current customer active and inactive.service connections in the City's water distribution <br />system with all existing connections metered.
